Records Relating to Amelia Earhart
The Operational Archives Branch of the Naval Historical Center has placed
the following records relating to Amelia Earhart on microfilm. Current price
for microfilm duplication is indicated on the Naval Historical Center fee
schedule. To order film copies, please indicate the reel numbers wanted
on the duplication order form, and
send a check or money order for the appropriate amount, made payable to
the Department of the Navy to the Operational Archives Branch, Naval
Historical Center, 901 M Street SE, Washington, DC 20374-5060. For overseas
orders, please include an international check or money order with the order.
Except when noted, the original documents are held by the Textual Reference
Branch, National Archives and Records Administration, 8601 Adelphi Road,
College Park, MD 20740-6001 (301-713-7250). However, the Operational Archives
Branch has paper copies of all these records which are available to researchers
in that office's research room weekdays, except for Wednesdays and federal
holidays from 0900 to 1600 (9 a.m. - 4 p.m. )

Concerns the proposed flight and covers the period 16 October 1936 to 11
May 1937.
Reel NRS-246-C contains:
U.S. Coast Guard records, Record Group 26, National Archives.

Includes correspondence and messages; Pan American Airways report; Earhart
plane flight; and the transcript of USCGC Itasca log for July 1937.
These documents cover the period 2 July 1937 to May 1938.

Includes the records of official naval investigations into allegations regarding
the disappearance of Amelia Earhart, and a copy of the Fourteenth Naval
District report of the search for Earhart by U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard
